ASK ME ANYTHING: 2 ASP Authors to Host Reddit AMA
Joanna Biggar and Linda Watanabe McFerrin will answer your travel and travel-writing questions in tomorrow's reddit AMA (Open to all)
Tomorrow, October 9th, from 12:20-2:00pm, travel-writing partners, Linda Watanabe McFerrin and Joanna Biggar, will be hosting an AMA on reddit.com's r/travel.
An "Ask me Anything" or "AMA" is an open period where the users of online forum, Reddit, can ask questions of a specific person (or duo in this case).
Here is astronaut Chris Hadfield's AMA
The "Anything" part of an AMA is taken seriously, but the subjects of the AMA self-moderate by replying only to questions they believe they can answer thoughtfully and thoroughly.
Linda and Joanna's AMA tomorrow will focus on travel and travel-writing and so will take place on the landing page of r/travel. Joanna, Linda, James, Rose and myself (Max the web guy) will all be together at ASP HQ from 12:20-2pm discussing your questions and assisting Linda and Joanna wherever they may need it.
How do I Access The AMA?
If you want to access the AMA but don't want to create a Reddit account and ask questions, just surf on over to reddit.com/r/travel tomorrow between 12:20 and 2pm.
If you would like to participate in the AMA by asking questions but aren't a regular user of Reddit, you can make a Reddit account in about 3 minutes in total. Here is a nifty guide to making an account and using Reddit. Then, tomorrow, log in and open the AMA on r/travel.
Why Reddit?
Reddit is an awesome tool for outreach. There is no better way to access niche communities and discourse with so kindred a group of people other than live events (which can never achieve the sort of geographical diversity that a forum can). We look forward to having many more of these interactive events on Reddit and elsewhere in the future.
We hope to see you there! And don't hesitate to direct questions at alansquirepr@gmail.com
