A Small Press With Big Ideas
The Annual Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) Conference takes place in Washington DC, at the Washington Convention Center & Washington Marriott Marquis. The ASP/SFWP consortium will have a large and joyful presence at the conference throughout the weekend. Come find us at Booth 505 in the Book Hall, where there will be author signings, giveaways, and some fun live video blogging.

Thursday, February 9, noon: Grace Cavalieri is part of the panel, “A Community, A Welcome: 25 Years of DC Poetry Anthologies.”
Thursday, February 9, 5-7 p.m.: ASP’s Rose Solari reads her poetry, along with Carl Phillips, Carolyn Forché, Pablo Medina, Natasha Tretheway, and others, as part of the magazine Poet Lore’s 128th Birthday Celebration. This is an offsite event at the restaurant Baby Wale, 1124 9th St NW, Washington, DC 20001.

Thursday, February 9, 9:00 a.m.: SFWP’s Tara Laskowski is part of the panel, “The Long from the Short: Turning Flash Pieces into a Novel, Novella, or Memoir.”
Friday, February 10, 10:30 a.m.-11:45 a.m.: SFWP’s Allen Gee is part of the panel, “In Appreciation of Junot Diaz and Claudia Rankine.”
